Harbourside Vigil

This series transitions from the concept of a wandering exile meandering through a strange dusky landscape amid the tension of longing, toward the nascent feelings of belonging. The exile can finally if tentatively pause to consider encampment in the protective realm of the metaphoric harbour. Thus notions of rest and repose are evoked. However,as we are considering initial
and therefore tenuous feelings of belonging in a still unfamiliar environment, vigilance is required, the exile may not yet completely rest assured. The harbour still allows for potential incomers yet do these potential newcomers pose a threat or are they fellow exiled refugees we would welcome. In this sense as we survey the horizon it may appear that the familiar dockside Fremantle cranes give the impression of coastal guardians keeping a vigil.
