Crossings
The original inspiration for Crossings was painted while an artist friend was tending
to her long time artist partner up until his final moments. While contemplating
the mood of the painting I realised it was unconsciously influenced by their situation.
Upon reflection this work appears to capture an enigmatic sense of separation between two
mysterious yet somehow connected figures separated by a precarious crossing. The theme
of separation is universal and I hope this painting captures some of the psychological
uncertainty inherent with separations.
